Summer sun!

I’m so happy that we’ve had this beautiful summer weather! Despite the cynics I think it’s the start of thing to come for the whole summer.
With just over  a month to go until our big summer show ‘We are the Champions’ It’s a really busy time for me with choreography, rehearsals, Graphic design, costumes, tickets and visuals to get prepared in order to make our show a big success. With a lot of hard work, and plenty of good organisation I know it’s going  be fab! There will be everything from tap to Gymnastics in this show so please come along and support us! Tickets will be on sale by the end of this week at my website www.dynamicdance.org.uk
We also will be performing at the Parsons Green fete in July on their main stage, where we’ll present a twenty minute showcase of what we offer at Dynamic Dance giving my Superstars another great performance experience.
Please don’t forget that you can book up now for our summer School which takes place from 30th July-3rd August at Sutton high School. This is available for ages 5-14 years and will be a great week where the children will learn a variety of dance styles and get to perform at the end of the week.
I hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend celebrating the Queens Jubilee! Congratulations to her Majesty.

Dancetastic!

I hope you’ve all had a great week. Despite the weather we are entering British summertime!
I will be holding a Summer School ‘Dancetastic’ at Sutton high school form Monday 30th July-Friday 3rd August 2012 for children aged 5-14 years. This will be full week dance experience where children will learn a variety of styles including street, jazz, tap and contemporary dance. Children of all levels are welcome and along with my team we will create a fantastic dance experience with a great performance at the end of the week. Keep your children moving during the summer holidays and contact me to book.
I decided I wanted to detox so I have been following a seven day Juice plan with the Juice master himself Jason Vale. With a carefully selected plan of juices including apples, celery, pineapple, wheatgrass, spirulina and much more the juices are delicious and bursting with goodness. I have just two days to go! Yes, it has been tough but I wanted to cleanse my system and have a break from caffeine. I’ll let you know how I feel once I’ve finished the plan! But so far so good.
Have a great week everyone and let’s hope the sun shines soon

The power of performance

I’m so glad to be back in London and back in the studio with my classes and parties. I’m particularly focused on the choreography for my summer show at the moment constantly taking inspiration and developing it into routines that work for the concept of this show.
I want to talk about the power of performance. I first began performing at the young age of five and as a natural performer it gave me an elated feeling of achievement, sensation and euphoria like I could take on the world and was able to achieve anything I wanted! Now let’s be clear that I’ve not gone on to be an international superstar or a major west end sensation. But I am proud of all that I've achieved and have great memories of all of my performance work both as a child and professional. Those experiences will always stay with me and give me a special feeling whenever I think about them.
I’ve been involved choreographically with lots of performances over the years with young people of various standards and there is always a positive outcome of achievement and celebration. With my own shows that I now stage through Dynamic Dance I’m able to be really creative and push my young performers to their limits. I’m able to reward the children who really excel and work hard with solo pieces and give those who lack confidence a real chance to overcome this.
Expression, Freedom, Creativity, Visual, Energy, Beauty, Dynamic. These were the words I chose to have projected onto the stage at the opening of my last show.
Come see us in action on 1st July; it might just inspire you.

Blogg from the NE

I’ve not blogged in a little while as I've had to have some family time out of London recently....
It  brought me back to my dancing roots in the North East where I first began dancing at the local community centre taking tap and modern classes twice a week. For such a small village in county Durham we were lucky to have a dance class available and I’ll always be grateful to Nicola who was the wonderful teacher for introducing me to the thing would shape my life. I also received some of my professional training at a dance college also in Sunderland and the North east will always remain close to my heart.
I have missed my classes so badly whilst I’ve been away and really can’t wait to get stuck back in and get our summer show on the road! Big thanks to my girls Mel, Nicola and Angela for looking after everything. I’m ready to hit the studio and get working hard! I’m looking forward to the new Cheryl single coming out so I can knock out a routine and probably steal some moves from the video! She’s another Northern lass who has done amazingly well, taken an opportunity and ran with it.
Look out for info on our summer show, summer school and other events that we’ll be at...
Have fantastic bank holiday weekend and see you all soon
