Fall

October is my absolute favourite month of the year and always has been. I love everything about it and I think London looks particularly beautiful this autumn so we've been taking advantage and spending time outdoors where possible.

Already we are almost at half term and I'm delighted with a successful start to our new school year at Dynamic. We have welcomed lots of new pupils and all of our students have made excellent progress within just a few weeks.

We are preparing for our annual Halloween dress up week before half term which is always a favourite with the kids! I'll be sharing pics from this year and our best costume winners.
We have Halloween workshops in Kingston on 22nd, 23rd and 24th October at Alexandra School for children ages 3-12 years. They are already booking up so don't miss out, book via the link on our site

Autumn term

What a summer! A royal wedding, a heatwave and now its autumn!

Autumn is my favourite season of all. I love the way the season changes into golden then red and there is something about the new school year which fills me with excitement and hope. I have many ideas and hopes for the coming year and feel excited to get into the studio and back to a busy routine.

After a busy summer of performances and workshops we will be focusing on introducing new classes to the timetable and welcoming new pupils. We are looking forward to working with new Schools and have half term and Christmas workshops lined up so it is going to be a super busy term!

We are offering FREE trial classes to new pupils throughout September in both of our Kingston and Cheam studios. We offer Dynamic original which is our performance class including technique, street and jazz styles, Tap, Musical Theatre, Street dance and Toddler dance!
Classes are suitable for ages 3-16 years and pupils don't require any previous experience to attend.

We also offer Dance parties and work with schools and nurseries for which we also offer a free taster session. Contact me for more info and check out the full timetable at;
https://www.dynamicdancestudios.co.uk/timetable

My favourite part of the summer has been spending time with my son. I'm looking forward to having some time to breathe and get back to myself but I'll miss our days together.

I hope you've all had a wonderful summer and I've loved everyone sharing their snaps on instagram.

See you all next week and be prepared to get your groove on!

Summer Love

Schools out for summer!

We are officially on summer break and most schools around the country break up this week.
Summer is here and oh is it a hot one so far!

We finished the term on a high with a performance at the IYAF Dance showcase last week with a few routines from our TEN show including Solo performances, Acro and Street.
The girls did great and with somewhat less pressure than at our big show in June they were relaxed and performed beautifully.
IYAF is a great platform for Artists who want to showcase their work and these non competitive opportunities interest me as a teacher and choreographer. You can put your best work forwards alongside other great Choreographers and Directors without the ranking so to speak.
We thank the IYAF team for another great festival and congratulate everyone who took part.

We have our summer School in a couple of weeks which is filling up nicely. What better way to keep the children active than with a week of dance? There will be Street, Jazz, Musical theatre, Contemporary dance and awards each day plus a show for parents at the end of the week. The SS takes place from 30th July - 2nd August at Alexandra School in Kingston and is open to children aged 3-16 years of all levels. We offer a 10% sibling discount on all full week bookings.
Contact us to book to avoid disappointment-

TEN

Another few months of no blog posts......!
Forgive me for those who actually enjoy my blogs and have asked why.

It's been a hectic few months and we had our big show last weekend.
'TEN' took place on Saturday 16th June at the Hampton Hill Theatre and it was a huge success. Thank you to the students, parents, backstage team, designers, and of course the dancers who were wonderful!

Our show was a celebration of running for Ten years and included Street dance, Musical theatre and Acro styles. The girls all danced beautifully and we had a guest performance from a very talented ex pupil, Andrew Self as well as some awards. It really was a fantastic night and I'm so proud of everyone involved.

For those who are planning a show in the coming weeks you will know how stressful it is.
If you haven't been part of a dance show or Theatre production let me tell you it is stressful with a capital S! There is so much work and so many details involved in the planning it requires a full team to co-ordinate. I did it mostly on my own with some help from a very organised and generous parent who stepped in before I drowned in a sea of sequins and spreadsheets!
Thanks to her I'm still sane and the show went on.

Speaking of Ten year celebrations we are excited to be part of IYAF this July
(International Youth Arts Festival, Kingston) who also mark Ten years of this brilliant Arts festival. We will be part of the dance showcase on 10th July at the ACT in Kingston and alongside five other dance companies we will perform an extract from 'TEN'
We can't wait as we loved it last year! Book tickets to see us at
http://iyafestival.org.uk/event/international-dance-showcase/

As the term comes to an end everyone is thinking about summer doubt.  I for one can't wait to have some rest and quality time with my son.

If you are looking for activities to keep your children entertained look no further than our week long Summer School taking place at Alexandra School in Kingston! This is open to children aged 3 years and over and runs from 30th July- 2nd August. We will explore Street dance, Contemporary and Musical theatre styles with a show at the end of the week.
Link to book is

I will be writing more from now as my weeks free up and I can talk about things which are relevant to dance, fitness and motherhood. I will also be working towards the launch of the ELDance Company which I am so excited about.

Wishing you a glorious Sunday, I'm off to check the score!

Ten

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

I hope you all had a great January and look forward to 2018 with positivity and new goals.

This is a big year for us as it marks Ten years of Dynamic Dance Studios!
We are celebrating with a big show and awards and there will be lots of other fun this happening to mark this special anniversary.

I founded Dynamic Dance Studios in March 2008 with three classes opening in Sutton, Surrey at the Cannons gym. I had been working previous to that for several years as a freelance dance instructor teaching and lecturing dance for different Schools, Colleges and companies. My vision was to offer a children's dance class based on various modern dance styles that brought out children's energy and confidence; something Dynamic hence the name!
I wanted to bring shows together through these classes and also offer workshops and parties under the same business umbrella.

Over the years we have put on some wonderful productions at venues including the Secombe Theatre, Adrian Mann Theatre and Arthur Cotteral Theatre as part of the International Youth Arts Festival.
I have been lucky enough to teach dance at Pineapple Studios, The Kogan Academy and St Marys University as well as working with primary and secondary Schools all over London and Surrey.

We now focus on the Kingston and Cheam Studios and hope to continue and grow in these areas where there are lots of keen young dancers.

Since I had my son Christian in 2015 running DDS been a challenge and I'll admit a struggle at times to juggle everything. My little boy will be old enough soon to come along and join in and I can't wait for that!

I Feel proud and grateful that my business is still going ten years later. I have met and worked with some inspiring people and made many great friends along the way and I hope some of then will be there on the 16th June to watch our wonderful dancers on stage as we celebrate what we are about...

Being part of something great, enjoying it and becoming confident in yourself!
And for those who choose to take dance further in life, that's just fabulous.

I will share info with you all on our Celebrations for 2018.

Have a great half term and Happy Valentines day!
