Don’t stop moving!

During a time of indulgence such as Easter I think it’s important to feel you can have what you like and eat chocolate, hot cross buns or a lovely Easter lunch. I don’t believe in deprivation!
I am great believer in looking after myself and keeping fit which I feel goes hand in hand with my job. If I’m not fit there is no way I can teach all of my classes and be energetic and active for hours a day. Over the years I’ve used running, the gym, aerobics, cycling and dancing to keep fit. In recent years I’ve discovered Bikram yoga which for me has been a great breakthrough in taking care of my body whilst also taking care of my mind and really finding time and space to slow down.
Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises derived from Hatha Yoga, performed over 90 minutes in a room heated to approximately 40°C. It’s intense and challenging but has amazing results and is suitable for all fitness levels. Yesterday I decided to take two classes back to back because I  really felt my mind and body needed it and sometimes I enjoy a challenge. Bikram studios are all over London and I’d highly recommend it particularly to dancers.
In this generation of technology where we spend so much time in front of TV’s, computers, iphones, ipads and games consoles I think it’s so important to stay active and find an exercise that you enjoy which also makes you feel great be it Zumba, street dancing, pilates, jogging or yoga.
I’m offering FREE trials all next week to any new pupils who wish to try out my classes.
Let’s keep moving and definitely keep on dancing!
